George. Un gomero de San Miguel, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Las imágenes, tomadas en 2015, documentan su día a día en el taller donde trabajó desde principios de la década de 1990. El taller y su vivienda, la cual se le permitía habitar como parte de su salario, estaban separados apenas por una cortina. Durante la pandemia, el dueño de la gomería fallece. Su hijo, su hija y su y ex esposa deciden vender todo a una fabrica y echar a George, sin indemnización, sin techo, sin sustento económico. George muere de cáncer de pulmón, en enero de 2025.
George. A tire repair shop worker from San Miguel, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The images, taken in 2015, document his daily life in the workshop where he worked since the early 1990s. The workshop and his dwelling, which he was allowed to live in as part of his salary, were separated by only a curtain. During the pandemic, the owner of the tire repair shop passed away. His son, his daughter, and his ex-wife decided to sell everything to a factory and evict George, without severance, without a roof over his head, without financial support. George died of lung cancer in January 2025.
